Charts have always been fascinating to me, maybe because they are a cool definition of Clarity or maybe because I’m not very good at making them. I love how you can piece huge chunks of information that would otherwise cause some sort of Information overload in your head on a normal day, into one marvelous digestible diagram. So when I discovered Michelle Rial’s work, I was stupefied. Her work is so marvelous!
Michelle Rial takes everyday scenarios and created charts and graphs out of them. She pieces information together in ways that are beyond the ordinary. Michelle takes pictures of items and draws charts into/around them, making a whole new information image entirely.

From the mundane to the hilarious, to the cynical, Michelle Rial’s charts give new lives to objects, thoughts, moments and situations. Her charts are graphical, still-life sitcoms.
