Opportunity: Cinematics Technical Artist at Creative Assembly, UK

Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Technical Artist to join their in-house cinematics team, pushing the visual excellence of their games to the next level.
The successful candidate will develop detailed facial, body and camera rigs, produce high-quality deformation and provide technical support to the in-house cinematic animators and artists.
In this role, the Technical Artist will work closely with Creative Assembly’s in-house motion-capture department, to design and develop high-quality facial animation systems, along with driving virtual camera tech and trends for future Total War titles.

Key Responsibilities
As the Cinematic Technical Artist on the team, you will be proactive and passionate about your work, using your experience to solve production challenges and provide feedback on existing systems and workflows.

Day to day, you will create facial and body rigs for characters, cameras, vehicles and props using in-house tools. You will also skin a wide variety of characters, vehicles and props and implement into engine

In addition to this, you will provide technical support to the team, collaborate and communicate production challenges and investigate new tech to improve existing systems and workflows.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience
Excellent problem solving, communication and time management skills
In depth knowledge of Maya
Excellent Rigging and Skinning skills
Experience in setting up and maintaining dynamic solutions.
High level of understanding in figure and facial anatomy
Previously shipped AAA titles in an equivalent role
Excellent understanding of Python, C++ and/or Maya API
Proactive and passionate about the work and providing assistance
Experience designing and maintaining tools in a production environment

Production experience with Motionbuilder and 3DS Max
High level of understanding of 3D maths (linear algebra, vector and matrix math)
Film VFX experience
