Reality Can Get a Little Mischievous With Maya Land, Queen of Collage
What’s New
I didn’t know the feeling of craving visuals that feel like a quiet journal, until I found Artistic Side of Life. Suddenly, my morning coffee looked like a poem, my windowsill a gallery, my to-do list… EVERYTHING somehow looked like art, and truthfully it is art. I would have said it’s a spin off from scrolling through Maya Land’s off-the-normal collage art, but truthfully, all these beauty laid there for years, and my! is she doing a fantastic job at using her art as the magnifying lens for creativity. I mean, check this out!

Maya Land doesn’t just take photos or paint, she curates daydreams that gets you on a personal level, like you and her share the same inside joke but in visuals. But beyond the joke there’s a quiet display of unusual intelligence paired with playful warmth, the kind that stops you in your tracks and you blurt out “wait… what?” before going back and lingering.
Think soft pastel palettes with a pop of something unexpected – a bold stripe, a curious shadow, a child feeding a sea from a water can. In one word it’s REFRESHING!
And maybe that’s the magic: the fact that her pieces make you complicit. You start spotting new stories in every corner; what are those two people whispering about on the skyscraper? Who’s sunbathing under the chandelier? Suddenly, the rules of scale, space, and sense don’t matter. The only rule is: look closer.

Because maybe your living room could be a forest. Maybe your daily commute is just one missing pigeon away from a full-blown surreal adventure. And maybe that’s the artistic side of life we’ve all been craving for!
