Are You Eligible? Key Requirements for Application

•  7+ years of product design experience with complex workflows or multi-step processes, plus demonstrated experience designing AI experiences for consumer products with large user bases.
• Strong background in ethical AI practices and privacy-first design principles.
• Proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools, along with knowledge of design systems and project management tools like Jira.
• You need a portfolio showcasing polished UI craft, innovative interaction paradigms, and user-centric design solutions that turn complicated workflows into clear, intuitive experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do

•  Lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered Firefox features from initial sketches to live experiences used by millions.
• Blend familiar browser patterns with innovative AI functionality to keep browsing feeling fresh, fast, and intuitive.
• Create storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes that explore new ways people interact with AI in their browser.
• Work autonomously to identify design problems and propose solutions that balance user needs, product strategy, and technical constraints.
• Help evolve Firefox’s design systems to maintain consistency across the desktop experience while ensuring every interaction prioritizes privacy, accessibility, and user trust.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of visual and interaction design principles including layout, typography, motion, accessibility, and brand expression.
• Hands-on experience experimenting or prototyping with AI technologies, combined with curiosity about emerging AI tools.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence without authority. Collaborative, flexible, low-ego approach that thrives in fast-paced, distributed team environments.
