The Young Films Foundation is an exciting new not-for-profit company created by Young Films to develop new Scottish writing, directing and production talent for feature film, TV drama, and comedy.
For centuries, the Isle of Skye has been an inspiration to painters, to poets and to musicians, as well as to the thousands of annual visitors.
The Young Films Foundation is now offering this inspiration to the country’s up-and-coming film talents: a week’s residency on the island that offers writers, directors, and producers the opportunity to nurture their gifts under the guidance and mentoring of some of the leading names in the UK film and television industry.
The programme comes with the sponsorship of Creative Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, MG Alba, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and local business, and is endorsed by the powerhouse partnership of Film4 and Channel 4; and the competition for the 2018 residential programme launches now.
The awe-inspiring backdrop to Young Films’ ground-breaking Gaelic drama series Bannan, is now also the focus of the Foundation’s quest for Scotland’s film-makers of the future.
