I stumbled on Vix Harris’ 50 Rebel Women via Osengwa’s Instagram handle and have been stalking her work since then. She’s simply marvelous! Using a combination of Henna Floral backgrounds and layovers, Vix Harris portrays the slaying awesomeness of 50 women who have refused to be defined by status quo and paved way for women to show forth their prowess. Vix Harris started this #50RebelWomen project in 2016 on Instagram and Facebook. She had started drawing again after a long break and advice from established artists like Lisa Congdon suggested that the best way to improve quickly was to make art a regular practice. She chose to feature #50RebelWomen mainly because of her interest in intersectional feminism and her fascination with women throughout history who have blazed their own trail and inspired others to do the same.
