Information about the Project
We are looking for an emerging young designer/installation artist to work alongside the production team at the Creative Youth Network to achieve the vision for a large-scale, immersive live performance in October/November 2018.
The designer/artist will design and create the set to be used during the production, which is being held in the Arnolfini in Bristol over three nights. This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with Creative Youth Network, and the many other partners within the creative industries, whilst having your work shown in the largest gallery in Bristol.
The aim of this project is to create a live experience that makes the audience and participants alike question their understanding of the journey to, nature of, and cost of, success.
We want to stimulate discussion both during and after the show; we want to explore individual and collective ethics; to unpick and reimagine power structures; and to expose the audience to the full range of challenges, barriers, and emotions that young artists go through when trying to make their mark.
The experience will take part throughout the Arnolfini, the role of the lead designer will be to work with the production team to decide on the design, curation, and to source the materials and ideas for the space. We are looking to fill the main 5 spaces with relevant installations, projections, performers, sound, and any relevant sound, or visual ideas.
