Oh, how we love Mari Andrew! She’s an amazement, that woman. Her illustrations remind us of The Fugees lyrics “Strumming my pain with his fingers. Telling my whole life with his words” because that’s exactly how Mari Andrew’s Illustrations are – pulling out bits and pieces of every day, and showing that we can live our lives in humor.
Mari Andrew is a writer and illustrator. She’s been a writer forever, but became an illustrator when she was going through a tough time two years ago and needed a new fun form of self-expression. She tried guitar, salsa, surfing, and instructional cooking videos, but drawing is the hobby that really stuck.
Here are a couple of times she’s drawn out our lives in Technicolor:
The time she gave us Vacation tips on a platter of Illustrations.
The time she did an illustration for Mothers Day that made our hearts pump extra-life.
The Announcement of her shop that made us do a dance in our minds.
The time she opened up the envelope filled with all our vulnerabilities.
The time she made a compilation of transaction cues for relationships.
The time she made a Bingo card for counting our blessings.
The time she drew a Resistance chart!
These crazily neat alternate definitions of the Mobile phone.
The time she made these hilarious mathematical equations that come with Airports.
The time she made this sad and heartbreaking candle board to represent the Aleppo crisis and Immigrant crisis.
The folly of being lovestruck and fixing broken humans.
The delightful Lighthouses of Life.
