3D Rendering, Modelling & Visualization Masterclass for Women

As part of Jenga CCI, the Goethe-Institut Nairobi is implementing a 3D Modelling ans Rendering Masterclass for Women in order to boost employment and income opportunities for female illustrators and animators.

The architectural and 3D visualization masterclass aims to upskill creative’s knowledge and competencies around 3D Modelling and Rendering in order to open up new opportunities within the gaming and animation markets.

The project “Cultural and Creative Industries” is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It improves employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries; Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa and operates mainly in the
music, fashion, design and animation sectors. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project aims to strengthen the framework conditions
and the ecosystem of the cultural and creative industries.

The training will be implemented from 4th September until 7th October 2023, with an introductory session on 1st September and a showcase of the final works from 5th to 7th October 2023. Kindly note that this is a very intense Masterclass with a weekly engagement of 24h guided sessions and up to 10h self-practise and assignments. Participants
will be required to attend a min. of 80% of the Masterclass in order to receive a certificate.

Requirements for Applicants:

– Applicants must be interested in the theme of feminist transformation in the professional industry.

– Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

– Applicants should have a basic understanding of illustration, animation, Design, and Computer Graphics. This can be demonstrated through previous coursework, certification, or work experience.

– It is essential that the applicants should have laptops Or PCs that can comfortably run softwares such as, Blender, 3Ds Max, Lumion and Vray/Corona Plugins

– Applicants should be available for at least five-weeks physical training program

Commitment:

Applicants should be committed to pursuing a career in animation, illustration, game design, 3D modelling and rendering

Applicants should submit the following:

– Resume

– A statement of motivation describing their interest in the field

– Portfolio of previous work related to animation, illustration, game design, 3D modelling and rendering, or
Computer Graphics. The portfolio should include examples of 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization projects, if available
