The Summer 2023 Communications Intern will be an integral member of CCA’s Advocacy & Communications Team.
The Intern will assist in all aspects of CCA’s internal and external communications, including social media outreach, website management, creative writing, email marketing, copyediting, and special projects. Strong candidates will have experience updating websites and social m writing skills, and a demonstrated interest in learning about communications tactics for reaching targeted audiences.

This is to be a remote internship. The Intern will need to have access to a computer and internet connection. This is a paid internship.

Essential Functions
- Draft digital messaging to be shared across CCA’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Assist with ongoing website management, including posting and updating content and related research.
- Help write and promote communications content, including press releases, blog posts, feature articles, factsheets, and other written materials.
- Support knowledge management and thought leadership initiatives including CCA’s quarterly newsletter, monthly highlights, monthly media round-up, and more.
- Support the planning and execution of CCA events.
- Support CCA’s advocacy efforts, including brainstorming engagement opportunities for new and existing champions and youth advocates.
- Participate in relevant meetings, such as team meetings, all-staff meetings, internal webinars, and other learning opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
- Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
- Strong writing skills.
- Knowledge of and/or interest in global health, energy access, women’s empowerment, and climate action.
- Creative mindset with the ability to problem-solve and work under pressure.
- A strong willingness to take initiative and a desire to learn.
- Skills in CRM/CMS platforms (WordPress), Adobe Creative Suite programs, Mailchimp, and social media management tools (Hootsuite) are desirable but not required.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
- Must have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
- Must be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
