CEG Digital wishes to engage the services of an Online Tutor for their MA in Interior Design run in partnership with Arts University Bournemouth.
As an online tutor for the MA Interior Design course, you play a central role in the day-to-day success and vibrancy of the university’s online courses and are a consistent presence in the modules to which they are assigned and are usually the first point of contact for academic queries from students.
Each Online Tutor will have a group of up to 30 students.
This is a flexible, part-time role and it is estimated that during a typical week, each student group may need approximately ten hours of online tutoring, although flexibility is required in order to accommodate busy periods such as assessment.
Note that there will be key dates and contact points you will be required to adhere to which are driven by assessment dates in the course calendar. Full details will be provided prior to the start of the module.
The Course
The MA in Interior Design programme provides a platform for professionals wanting to further their ambitions for employment or professional practice in the interior, spatial, or architectural interior design industry. This unique course offers a flexible varied curriculum combining theory and practical elements, aimed at graduates or professionals practicing or wanting to practice in the exciting, diverse, and growing field of interior design. Underpinned by sustainability including the benefits of Biophilic Design, the programme also considers interior design in the broader context. Discussion and theoretical exploration, linked to evidence-based design solutions, encourages individuals to engage with a collaborative approach to designing interiors, installations or buildings focusing on solutions and spaces for occupants, in a variety of self-selected environments. More information can be found via the AUB Online site.
The Module
There are two tutor positions available. The first is for the Sustainable Futures module starting in May 2023. This module focuses on the current sustainable agenda and global crisis avoidance and how designers can contribute to the UN’s sustainable goals. Students will combine design with theory and focus upon the management of domestic and commercial building design projects, in the context of creating a successful sustainable strategy.
Please note that we are also accepting expressions of interest for the Experience module starting in September 2023 and invite candidates who have the relevant skills to apply. The Experience module focuses on commercial interior design and will engage students with the concepts related to the changing landscape of customer experience versus economics within the commercial retail, hospitality, and exhibition interior design industry.
