The Pitcher Awards celebrates contents and creativity created from Africa. It is recognized internationally, although it began celebrating works created in West Africa, but the 2020 awards which is also the third (3) year for the award will recognize contents created from all parts of Africa in line with its vision to provide the true and authentic benchmark for African creative excellence.
Lürzer’s Archive and Cannes Lions
The winning material will be published in the international edition of Lürzer’s Archive. The special Cannes Lions issues is usually distributed at the Festival and worldwide. Furthermore, the winning works will be featured online at the Lürzer’s Archive website. Also, there will be special winners publication will be presented at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Pitcher Awards Categories include amongst others; Film, Audio, Print, Design, Branded Content, Use of Media, Use of Data, Use of Insights and Strategy, PR and Reputation Management and Integrated Campaigns etc.. There are also special recognition awards for Creative Agency of the Year, Media Agency of the Year, Digital Agency of the Year, Media Person of the Year, PR Agency of the Year, Production Company of the Year, Advertiser of the Year and the Young Pitcher Award.
Award of excellence will be given at the sub regional level within West Africa, East Africa, North Africa and Southern Africa.
Entry cost is USD 140 per entry for Integrated and USD 100 per entry for other sub-categories. Each item in a campaign is charged separately at the same rate. Early bird discount of 15% will be applied to entries made and pay for on or before 10 January, 2020.
