One of the most fascinating experiences that can spin the mind out of control, is seeing an interpretation (art, science or any mode of expression) that makes you do a mental recalibration. Data’s work does this to us. Data Oruwari is one of our most admired artists, we’ve seen ramifications of her art that our imagination could not hitherto process. She’s a fireball of amazement.
Ideas are fungible, but the capacity to execute is something else entirely. Data seats in a space that a lot of creative people find inaccessible – moving from Idea to the execution phase and birthing a beautiful tangibility – bridging Art and Merchandise.
Here are a couple of her amazements:
Girl boss. President.
African Woman. Queen.
Illustration meets couture. Data Oruwari’s Art and creative collaboration on Fabric/Fashion.
Data Oruwari’s Art/Painting on Pottery.
Data Oruwari’s Art on Tee. (Yay Wearable Art!)
Illustration for Weiz Dhurm Franklyn “GAMBU” fashion collection. Clothes on the female characters were inspired by iconic pieces from the designer’s collection.
Mascot for African Female Entrepreneurs’ Website, Cofoundher.
“ATETE” Artwork. Half of the proceeds from her sale is donated to ‘SSCAN (Stop Sexual Child Abuse Now)’
