10-week Creative Course in Advertising for Ethnic Minority Applicants by BBC Creative U

BBC Creative U is a 10-week creative course in advertising hosted and taught by BBC Creative to improve the diversity of talent entering the advertising industry.

The programme will take place every Tuesday from 4-6pm and be available to ethnic minority candidates aged 18+. The course will provide students with the necessary skills and contacts to start a career in advertising.

Throughout the 10 weeks students will learn the fundamentals of idea generation, strategy, copywriting and art direction, with masterclasses from experts from across the BBC and beyond.

Each of the 10 students will be assigned a mentor from within the creative department, who will not only assist and guide them throughout the course, but for a further THREE months after the course has finished.

At the end of their time at BBCU students will have acquired/experienced:

– New creative skills

– Creative portfolios

– Contacts and mentors within the industry

– Work on live BBC briefs

– Experience in a creative agency

– Improved job prospects
