The Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS and the UN Women have launched a Comic and Cartoon Competition on Gender Equality. This Competition is part of the EU Gender Action and UN Women Campaign “Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity.”
The Competition is open to Nigerian comic and cartoon artists, art students as well as any interested candidate between the ages of 18 and 28 years residing in the country.
One 1st Prize: 1000 EUR
One 2nd Prize: 500 EUR
Three 3rd Prizes: 200 EUR each (for 3 People)

Intending participants should submit a maximum of 2 drawings (Comic/Cartoon without Words) and join the European Union and the UN Women as a Global Champion for Women and Girls.

Express what comes to your mind when you reflect on women’s rights and empowerment. Unleash your creativity to illustrate the relationship between women and men and positive changes you want to see. Picture it!

The five successful participants will be invited to Abuja to the Competition Award Ceremony in November 2017. The cost for travel and accommodation will be borne by the Organizing Entities. In addition, the drawings of the finalists and semi-finalists will be published online and may be considered for an Exhibition.
