Opportunity: Freelance Educational Video Editor at Skillshare

Skillshare is hiring a freelance video editor for long-form editing of interview and tutorial videos, as well as short form promotional trailers to advertise classes. Subjects include design topics as well as business and entrepreneurial lessons.

Editors must be proficient in technical video editing and offline workflows. In addition, the Content Team relies on editors to have an instinctual understanding of rhythm, pacing, and overall flow.

No long form experience necessary, but applicants must be willing to participate in Skillshare’s freelancer incubator. This requires time in NYC offices.

Responsibilities
Edit raw, 2x camera footage averaging 3-4 hours into complete sets of videos totaling anywhere from 25 – 75 minutes.
Works closely with producers through revisions and final videos
Must be capable of looking at content as a whole and making the necessary decisions to create cohesive timelines.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in video editing
Expertise in Adobe Premiere
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and After Effects
Open to constructive criticism, from peers and managers alike
Must have a high standard of video editing and polish
Willingness to work in our offices for the start of the contract and have your work reviewed by video team lead.
