NCOA Photography Award Contest 2022

THEME:  “One person caring for another represents life’s greatest value.” —JIM ROHN

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) invites photographers and visual artists to share their stories of older adults with their family and caregivers who look after aging loved ones.

Eligibility: U.S.A based professional and amateur photographers/visual artists (National Call)

We provide a platform for artistic expression ​to foster a dialogue and drive innovation in the photographic arts to encourage everyone to care for those who once cared for us, as we believe caregiving for older adults is one of the highest honors.


One –  First Prize: $1000

One –  Second Prize: $500

Four – Awards of Merit: $250 each

Ten – Honorable Mentions $100 each

Special benefit for the winners of the First Prize, Second Prize, and Merit Awards: NCOA will provide a one-year free promotion and support for artists to build a new professional portfolio website using the FolioLink website service for artists and photographers. If you already have a FolioLink website account, this benefit will allow you to have a second website free of charge for two years.

How To Enter

1) Entrants must use the SubmitArts online entry system. If you already have an account, please click on APPLY at the bottom of this announcement

4) Submit files that are at least 960 pixels and up to 4600 pixels (long dimension). Up to 5MB

5) Please name the file with: Artist’s last-name-first-name_Image-title ; “Untitled” is not allowed

Announcement of award winners: May 30, 2022

Opening of NCOA online gallery: June 6, 2022

Awards mailed to winners: June 12, 2022
