Intensive Group Training for Artists and Cultural Practitioners

This intensive group training is designed for artists and cultural practitioners looking to improve how they present, talk and write about themselves and their art practice. Its about getting It Across: Communicating Your Art Practice

Over 4 weeks of online lectures, tutor-led discussions and exercises, participants learn how to connect and communicate clearly in any situation in the art world. They gain practical methodologies to express their ideas more effectively and compellingly when conducting studio visits, writing artist statements, sending emails and applying for residencies and grants, and everything else that matters to their careers.

ACT tutors share details of their professional lives providing case studies about what works and what does not in their respective fields. For example, the module “How to write better applications” provides insights on the application process of leading art residencies and examples of how artists can stand out in a highly competitive environment where only 1% get in.

We have gathered decades of experience from influential art professionals to provide training beyond everything artists learnt in art school or academic courses. We only work with art world experts, who have achieved a high level of authority in their fields. Through constant feedback, practical exercises, and analysis of real case studies, artists gain professional skills and practical knowledge to pursue their career goals at any stage in their careers.

Artists taking this programme develop competence in communicating their art practice while gaining an unvarnished view of how the art world operates.
