Reuters Is Offering Up To Eight $5,000 USD Grants To Photojournalists

Reuters seeks to develop the next generation of photojournalists to share original, visual stories from around the world. Reuters is offering up to eight $5,000 USD grants to photojournalists or students interested in working on photo assignments and projects to advance their visual storytelling abilities. Pictures taken by grant recipients will be distributed globally on Reuters platforms. Yannis Behrakis, Reuters photojournalist, and senior editor, special projects, will advise recipients with their assignments and projects, providing advice or planning assistance.

The Candidate:
• Any passionate photojournalist or photojournalism student may apply.
•Reuters welcomes diverse candidates from all backgrounds and is excited to work with emerging talent who can tell stories from new perspectives. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to successfully conceive and complete their grant project.

Application Requirements:
•Applicants must submit a CV and a 35-50 picture portfolio(JPEG format) of both single images and multi-image stories.
•Detailed cover letter explaining the project or idea to utilize the grant. A project focused on a subject in a community or location within close proximity that can be completed in a few weeks or months is advisable.

Grant period: 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018
