2022 Taiwan Pitch Nonfiction Short Film Fund – Student Open Call

The 2022 Taiwan Pitch Nonfiction Short Film Fund invites students worldwide to tell their unique Taiwan stories by combining aesthetics, innovation, and new media techniques to create short films that allow the world to see Taiwan from different perspectives and viewpoints.We welcome proposals of 7-15 minutes long nonfiction films suitable for airing online and new media platforms. Finalists will receive a 10,000 USD funding for film production and a fixed reimbursement for travel expenses to participate in the “Talent Village” workshop held in Taiwan. Three films will be selected as outstanding works, and the finalists responsible for their creation will receive cash awards of 10,000 USD8,000 USD and 6,000 USD, respectively.

The program also invites industry professionals to serve as mentors, offering finalists support and advice during the stages of film production. The final films will premiere on TaiwanPlus, an international video streaming platform. Through its official website and app, audiences worldwide can see the beautiful stories generated by this program.

Application period for Taiwan Pitch

March 7, 2022, to April 30, 2022. The online application portal will be closed at 23:59 (GMT+8) on May 7th, 2022.

Submission qualifications

1. All applicants must be over 18 years of age.2. All applicants enrolled currently as students (excluding open universities) with valid student identification (including those graduating in 2022) are eligible to apply.

3. All applicants should apply as individuals. Those applying as companies or businesses will not be considered. Each applicant is allowed to submit only one film proposal.

4. Finalists shall join in the entire course of a week-long Talent Village held in Taiwan during early August 2022.

5. The final films must be presented entirely in English (including narration and subtitles).
