Faber Music Ltd was founded in 1965, as a sister company to the distinguished book publisher Faber and Faber. More than fifty years on, the company is one of the leading independent British publishers of classical, contemporary, media, and printed pop and educational music. At the core of Faber Music print catalog are tutors, repertoire and educational publications by world-renowned figures in their respective fields.
This is a highly creative position working on Faber Music wide-ranging commercial printed music publications. Encompassing all aspects of the editorial process, duties include budgeting, editing, proofing and sending to print, as well as working with both freelancers and composers. You will also contribute to the company’s frontlist through involvement in project concept and commissioning.
The successful candidate will work mainly on educational music publications but will also be involved with recreational and classical collections and textbooks. Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a can-do, persuasive attitude are essential, as is an ability to identify and develop commercial new publication ideas. Excellent text editing skills are required as well as a broad knowledge of musical styles.
You will be part of a small and highly professional team within a vibrant, creative office culture based in Bloomsbury, central London. Ideal start date late September.
